NH Fastbreak teams participate in between 5 and 9 tournaments during the spring season.  The younger teams tend to participate in 5-7 tournaments and the older teams tend to participate in 7-9 tournaments.  All tournaments are held on weekends between mid-March and mid-June (with the exception of the National Tournaments).  The tournament schedule for each team is put together by the Head Coach with participation from the team.  All team tournament schedules must be approved by the Director of Coaching, Tim Finnegan.

There will be two tournaments held at the Derry SportsZone sponsored by the NH Fastbreak.


NH Fastbreak Challenge

The NH Fastbreak Challenge tournament will be held at the Derry SportsZone on the weekend of March 27-28, 2011.  This is a fundraiser for the club and all teams are required to participate in this tournament.  It is held early in the season to help defray the costs for the remainder of the season.  Further details about this tournament will be posted on the Derry SportsZone website.  All participants are expected to help out with the tournament by volunteering your time to collect entry fees at the door, sell raffle items, run the book or clock for games, etc.  All funds collected (beyond expenses for the gym time and referees) will be applied toward reducing the cost per player for the season.


SportsZone Spring Classic

The SportsZone Spring Classic tournament will also be held at the Derry SportsZone.  It is a one-day tournament to be held on Saturday, April 17, 2011.  Further details about this tournament will be posted on the Derry SportsZone website.  Proceeds from this tournament go to the SportsZone.  We will not be expected to volunteer our services for this tournament.  All teams are expected to participate in this tournament unless there is a conflict with a major tournament elsewhere.


New England Tournaments

All teams will participate in AAU-sanctioned tournaments throughout the New England area during the season.  Teams are expected to participate in the NH State Tournament and the New England Super Regional Tournament.  These tournaments are area qualifying tournaments for the AAU National Championships.  In addition to these, teams may elect to participate in other tournaments throughout New England.  Some examples of tournaments that NH Fastbreak teams have participated in the past are the Maple Syrup Classic (Vermont), the Maine Hoops Invitational (Maine), and the Adrenaline Circuit (Mass).


Showcase Tournaments

In addition to the above tournaments, teams may elect to go to various showcase tournaments throughout the country.  Teams that qualify can participate in the AAU National Tournament and Junior National Tournament.  Other examples are tournaments like the Adidas Super 64 (Las Vegas) and the Boo Williams Tournament (Virginia).  Most of these tournaments are in the July timeframe.
